Pooris – Indian Deep-Fried Bread

Ingredients

  • 450g whole-wheat flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 300ml warm water
  • 1tbsp Olive Pride Blend of Seed Oils & Extra Virgin Olive Oil, plus extra for frying.

Instructions

Add the flour into a bowl and season with a pinch of salt.

Add the oil and water and mix to combine. Use your hands to form a firm dough. Knead the dough for 5 minutes and then tear off pieces of dough to form balls the size of golf balls.

On a floured surface, roll out each dough ball into a flat circle.

Heat the oil for frying the pooris. Add the pooris to the heated oil and fry until puffy and golden brown.

Remove from oil and drain on paper towel.

Serve warm with a delicious curry.
